1. What do you do for a living?

I’m Wonder Woman or in other words a stay at home mom.

2. Tell us your story of how you came to do CrossFit and how long have you been doing it (at 1976 and/or others)?

I just celebrated 2 yrs of my body being beaten upon Feb 21. Two years ago I talked Jennifer into coming with me and trying out a free workout at a nearby box. We loved it and wanted to sign up but for one reason or another we held off on signing up. Later that day Jennifer called me and told me she came across Emma’s post on FB about how they were going to start doing Crossfit in their garage. We decided to go that route because we knew Jeremy and because he was less intimidating than the box we went to. That was a Friday and the following Monday we started going to crossfit in the Evans’ garage.

3. What are some of the successes you’ve experienced?

Other than making some amazing friends! The best success I have experienced was when I was finally able to do a double under and link them. Getting up the rope during a WOD multiple times. I was excited about that too. Just being able to see how far I have come in two years. Yes some of these moves have taken me longer to achieve but it has all been worth it.

4. What are your current goals?

Well I’ve had one goal that I just can’t seem to get right now and I’m sure one day it will come (stupid pull up) I would love to be able to do an overhead squat and a snatch with ease. I want to do a kipping handstand pushup along with a strict. Oh and to be able not to pee while doing double unders but I doubt that one will ever happen.

5. What is your favorite movement/exercise?

I love the cleans! Crossfit girls like to clean, right?

6. What keeps you motivated?

My family. I want my family to know how important fitness is. I have been pursuing fitness for the past 7yrs and even though I sometimes complain about certain things I love how my kids are noticing how important fitness is to me. I love how my 7yr old looks forward going to kids crossfit. I love how my daughter was able to finally see results in her sport that she loves because of crossfit.

7. Any tips or advice for a CrossFit 1976 newbie?

DON’T QUIT! I have a quote on my phone screen and lock screen that says YOU’RE ALLOWED TO SCREAM, YOU’RE ALLOWED TO CRY, BUT DO NOT GIVE UP!

Also KEEP COMING BACK!

8. If you could have a super power what would it be and why?

Teleport. I hate the cold and I hate being cold. It would be so fun to get away from the cold just like that. Oh how I long for a warm sunny beach right now.
