Name: Nicole Clark
- What do you do for a living?
I work as an inventory planner at Sysco Intermountain
- Tell us your story of how you came to do CrossFit and how long have you been doing it (at 1976 and/or others)?
I first came to CrossFit 1976 in mid-January of this year having never done anything remotely like it. When ’76 opened, I told Robert I’d go with him to check it out with no expectations at all that I would enjoy it. My first Saturday I was dead last by a long shot in a team WOD with everyone around me, cheering and pushing me to finish. It sealed my love affair with CrossFit and the amazing people at ’76.
- What are some of the successes you’ve experienced?
I have found the biggest success in realizing that I am capable of so much more than I ever thought possible or gave myself credit for. I would have never dreamed that I had the ability to do the things I can today.
- What are your current goals?
My goals are to work hard, improve on my form and continue to build my engine.
- What is your favorite movement/exercise?
This is an impossible question! J Some of my favorite movements are: power cleans, hang power cleans, kettlebells, heavy deadlifts and PR days!
- What keeps you motivated?
My CrossFit family keeps me motivated, especially my husband & son! Working out with such amazing people makes it easy.
- Any tips or advice for a CrossFit 1976 newbie?
Leave “I can’t” at the door. Love the progression and never compare yourself to anyone else. Appreciate the hard and celebrate every single victory because when it’s over, you’re going to be amazed at what you did and what you are going to be able to do!
- If you could have a super power what would it be and why?
My super power would be the ability to heal myself and others so I could help people move around pain free!
